Kinnfolk Launches Kickstarter For Christmas Album

Virginia-based Celtic folk duo Kinnfolk launched a Kickstarter for their Christmas album, “A Wintertime Feast,” which is set to be released in November of 2026. This is the band’s fourth album and first step into holiday music.

The Kickstarter begins on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, and runs until August 27, 2026. The campaign gives fans a chance to preorder the album as well as winter-themed merch from the band. Merch includes apparel, handmade ornaments, art, and mugs, which are perfect for a cozy winter or even holiday gifts.

One track and video from the new Christmas album, “A Wintertime Feast,” were released in November 2025. It is their first-ever holiday track and is an original composition. It tells the tale of critters coming together for a Christmas Eve meal, and it has a strong Celtic sound and feel to it. Anna Lark provided illustrations for the video of the song.

Kinnfolk is made up of husband and wife Josh and Julie Kinn. The duo combines octave mandolin, bodhrán, and vocal harmonies into their Celtic folk music. They blend original compositions with traditional tracks.

The duo won the Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase in 2023, which earned them a Main Stage appearance at that year’s Goderich Celtic Roots Festival. They have also been on the cover of Irish Music Magazine, and the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast named them one of the top Celtic folk bands of 2025.

In September 2024, Kinnfolk successfully funded their third studio album, “Star Above the Mountain,” on Kickstarter with 114% funding. The success of this album launched a tour with the same name and international press.
