Scottish Band Dallahan Seeks Fan Support Amidst Crisis

Scottish folk quartet Dallahan is seeking fan support after losing £8,500 due to a canceled flight. The band was scheduled to take a flight from Scotland to the United States on January 7, 2026, with a connection in Amsterdam. However, due to cold weather and storms that hit Amsterdam, the flight was canceled the day before departure.

The band attempted to contact KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, which was their airline for the flight, but they were unreachable. They drove to Edinburgh Airport to try to figure out the situation with staff in person. They told the staff about their work commitments in the United States, and the staff said they could book their own flights on another route and they would be reimbursed by KLM.

Luckily, they were able to find another route, but it cost £8,500, and they had to fly out of Manchester. After booking the tickets, the band immediately filed a claim for reimbursement, complete with an explanation and receipts for the new flight.

They caught their new flight to the United States and went about their performances, but the anxiety of waiting for a response was still on their minds. This week, after the end of the band’s tour, they received a rejection from KLM for their claim.

As a result of being out £8,500, the band is calling attention to their merchandise and music through Bandcamp and their website. Money from these sales will help the band recover the funds they lost.

This tour was a big deal for the band as it was their first time touring in the United States in 10 years. In the replies to the Facebook post, they mention that they are not MU members. They mentioned that they have also tried their travel insurance. The post was their “last hope.”

“We’re not quite sure how we and our families will weather this one but a few sales will definitely go towards helping!” the band said in their Facebook post.

Kilted Owl reached out to KLM for a comment. We are awaiting a response and will update the post accordingly.
