Philadelphia-based Celtic rock band Barleyjuice announced on Facebook that 2027 will be their last year of touring. They intend to do shows locally in the Philadelphia area, but the various aspects of full touring no longer appeal to the band.
Climate change, gas and housing prices, vehicle maintenance,
and new bands filling local spots have taken a toll on the band. These are the
main factors that led to the band’s decision to end touring.
Barleyjuice formed as a band in 1998 and has released seven
albums throughout the years. They have taken their music throughout the United
States as well as Ireland and the UK. The band has seen various lineups through
the years.
The band is grateful for everyone and for all of the venues
and organizations who have been a part of their touring journey through the
years. Festivals and venues that want to
book the band are encouraged to reach out to them to end their touring ventures
with “a bang.”
Fans of the band took to the comments of the Facebook post
announcing the end of touring to show their love and appreciation for the band. Several
requested venues, while others recounted memories and stories they had with the
band.
