Original Poem: "Brave Gone Bad" by Ashley Paskill

Scottish Government, CC BY 2.0 <https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0>, via Wikimedia Commons

Curly red hair, a fiery soul to match

A mother who has met her match

Two wee brothers and a dad

Tried to find you a marriage-worthy lad

Scotland is your family home

Not Ireland nor Prague nor Rome

You set a spell you thought was fair

Your mom has turned into a bear

You tried to find the one who sold

The drink to you, but the business did fold

You thought you knew how to reverse

The drink you bought that caused the curse

When you tried, oh did you fail

Your bearly mother began to wail

Of the fix you’re unaware

Your mother now remains a bear

You have to tell your family

How a fix you couldn’t see

Now your mom is cursed for good

Forced to live in nearby woods
