Welsh rock band Stereophonics released their latest album, “Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait” on April 25, 2025. The album was produced by Kelly Jones and features eight tracks. This is the band’s 15th album since their start in 1992.
Kelly Jones not only did the production of the album but also
provided mixing, vocals, guitars, keyboards, and some percussion. Richard Jones
played bass and Jamie Morrison was featured on drums and percussion. Al Clay did
the album’s mixing, while Dave McNair did the mastering, and Phil Parsons did
the engineering.
The album starts off strong with “Make It On Your Own.” It
is a song that could very well be this year’s summer anthem. The song is a
great start for how the rest of the album sounds and feels and it is the perfect
first song as it is a great introduction to the rest of the album.
“There’s Always Gonna Be Something” is the new single on the
album. It talks about the issues that come up in life. It can seem overwhelming
to have things constantly happening, but they are a part of life. The song is a
reminder that we all have been through things in life before and we can get
through them again.
“Feeling of Falling We Crave” finishes the album in a calm
and mellow way. It is a unique look at love as it talks about the feeling of
falling in love, which is something we crave more than being in love on its own.
Most love songs talk about being in the midst of love but rarely look at the
falling in love. This is unique and will resonate with listeners.
The mixing on this album is perfect. The vocals and
instruments are in perfect balance with the lyrics easy to understand. The
songs are relatable and fun. They all have a pop-rock feel to them, but have
relatable lyrics.
Overall, the album is a lot of fun to listen to. It is a positive reminder that we can do what we set our minds to and we have overcome difficult things in the past. This album is perfect for those who love U2. Stereophonics has a similar sound and vibe to U2 while making their music their own. This album is a great album for the summer coming up, even though there is a song about October.
