Each year, the parade seeks to celebrate Scotland’s heritage
and culture and strengthen the longstanding relationship between Scotland and
New York City. It also honors the generations of Scots and Scottish Americans
who continue to contribute to the growth and development of the United States.
“We are excited to build on the Parade’s legacy and continue
expanding New York City Tartan Week as we look toward our 30th anniversary in
2028,” the National Tartan Day New York Committee said in a press release. “Our
focus remains on bringing together New York’s Scottish community, friends of
Scotland, and visitors from around the world to celebrate the extraordinary
cultural and historic ties between Scotland and the United States.”
Registration for the 2027 New York Tartan Day Parade will
open October 1, 2026. Additional programming and event announcements will
follow.
The Committee also announced its 2027 leadership team, which
brings together representatives of the organizations that make the event
possible. Camilla Hellman, representing the American Scottish Foundation, and
Robbie Munro, representing Saint Andrews, will co-lead the Executive Committee.
Lebby Campbell of Clan Campbell US will serve as the Executive Committee’s Treasurer,
and Dr Nina Urban of the NY Caledonian Club will serve as Secretary.
