Irish-American Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys is releasing an anti-I.C.E. song called “Citizen I.C.E.” The song will be a part of a tour-only split LP with Haywire, a fellow Boston band. The LP is called “New England Forever” and will be available on an upcoming tour which features Haywire and Dropkick Murphys.
The song is a reworking of the Dropkick Murphys’ song “Citizen CIA.” The lyrics resist I.C.E, with lyrics including “Too scared to join the military/ Too dumb to be a cop/ Citizen I.C.E.” Haywire help create the track and was featured on it. The song was performed during the Dropkick Murphys’ 2025 European tour.
The Dropkick Murphys posted a video of the song on Instagram, with the caption “REST IN PEACE RENEE GOOD. Your family is in our prayers.” This video features the studio version of the song and draws attention to the killing of Renee Good.
“New England Forever” features three original tracks from each band and each band covering a song by the other band. Haywire covers the Dropkick Murphys’ song “The Boys Are Back” and Dropkick Murphys cover Haywire’s “Always By My Side.” The album will be exclusively available at the Dropkick Murphys’ upcoming tour with Haywire.
