Album Review: "T-shirt Nothing Else" by Polly Money

On March 21, 2025, Cornish singer Polly Money released her latest album, “T-shirt Nothing Else.” The song consists of five songs with the total run time of the album being just over 14 minutes. This is Money’s second album and was released via coolOnline. The album was produced by Connor James and mixed & mastered by JHJ.

The mixing on the album is extremely well done. The vocals and instruments are perfectly in balance and the lyrics are easy to hear and understand. Each song has a bit of a different sound and style, but it is evident that Money is behind all of the songs. She either wrote or cowrote each of the songs on the album, and her connection to each of the songs on the album is alive and well.

The lyrics of the songs are deeply personal, and each tells a story. Each song is a glimpse into Money’s life and journey. As such, the title of the album is very fitting as it gets down to the core of who Money is without extra “accessories.” Her songs, especially the ones on this album, have become LGBTQ+ anthems and will resonate with so many people.

Vocally and stylistically, Money reminds me of Donna Lewis, specifically her voice on “I Love You Aways Forever.” Lewis fans will enjoy Money’s soft, melodic voice and similar music style.

Personally, “Anything” is my favorite track on the album. It is relatable as we all deal with moments of self-doubt (some more than others). Money speaks from her heart and opens up in a strong and beautiful way on an experience we all deal with but rarely talk about, especially in the open. She perfectly encapsulates these feelings and invites listeners to connect with this human experience.

Overall, this album is beautiful as it truly speaks on experiences that we all deal with. There are no explicit songs on the album. Listeners will be drawn into the mellow songs and smooth vocals. They will be captivated by the lyrics and the melodies that perfectly carry them to the hearts of all who are open to receive these songs.

Rating: 9/10 T-shirts
