Irish indie musician Annie-Dog released her new EP, “15,” on
February 27, 2025. It was released via Dance to the Radio and was produced by
Annie-Dog and Adam Redmond. The album consists of five songs totaling 14
minutes and 30 seconds.
The mixing of the songs is well done. Listeners can hear the
lyrics on each of the songs, which is difficult to perfect. While some of the
lyrics can be difficult to hear at times, the lyrics that are more audible are
ones that emphasize the story of the song.
Each of the songs has a different sound to it. This allows listeners
to find a song they enjoy and can connect with. Even with the different sounds
and styles between the songs, they all have Annie’s own “voice” on them, reminding
listeners who is behind the music.
The songs also each tell their own story about different
subjects. Along with the various sounds of each song, the different subjects of
the songs allows listeners to find something to connect with lyrically and
personally. Lyrics can connect the listener and the musician, especially if
they have similar situations arise.
“Little Italy” is the only song marked as “Explicit.” It reminds
me of a popular song (I can’t remember the title of the song). While most of the
other songs are more relaxed, this song is more upbeat and fun. There are
strong summer vibes throughout the whole EP, but these vibes are strong particularly
on this song.
Overall, this EP is a fun yet relaxing album to listen to.
It has summer vibes, even though it was released in February. Only “Little Italy”
is marked as “Explicit.” “15” is a great album to put on in the background
while getting things done. While a few of the songs will make you think and are
relatable, most are songs that are perfect to have on while focusing on other
things.
