On March 14, 2026, Perkasie held its annual Upper Bucks Celtic Festival. The event featured a variety of vendors, entertainment, and activities for people of all ages to enjoy within downtown Perkasie. It was a great day that was enjoyed by participants and attendees alike.

Vendors

There was a wide variety of vendors at the festival. This included several Celtic-themed but others as well.  The vendors line several street blocks, so be sure to bring your walking shoes if you want to see them all. I would like to see even more Celtic vendors. Many places had Celtic things, but very few actually had stuff from Ireland or the UK.

Food

There was a decent selection of food trucks and booths. Many had Celtic food specials for the event. Mama Waffles cottage pie was perfection. The waffle did not taste like a traditional waffle since it was made with potato, so it was basically traditional cottage pie.

My Other Neighbor

My Other Neighbor was such a fun band. The vocals were not the best, but they are clearly so passionate about their music. They played a variety of traditional Celtic music with a rock feel to it. Their audience engagement was incredible, inviting people to sing along.

First Highland Watch

First Highland Watch is a Celtic rock band with bagpipes. They played a variety of music from traditional Celtic music to classic rock. From the first notes, they drew audiences in. They were the last band of the event, and they kept everyone engaged and energetic throughout the performance.

Overall Entertainment

There was some overlap between the songs of the bands I saw. While the bands were different,  the same songs felt a bit redundant, especially for those who stayed for both bands. I can understand some overlap for those who didn't see both bands. They had Irish step dancers as well. I only saw a little bit of the dancing, but the dancers I saw did great.

Overall vibes

This is a great community event, perfect for families with kids. I felt like the fun wanted to continue into the night, like we should all meet up at an Irish pub or something and hang out and chat. The friend I went with lost her scarf. We went looking for it and couldn't find it. When we were listening to the bands, someone approached us and told us she had found it and turned it into the lost and found. It is a fun event, whether you are going with your family, friends, or simply by yourself.

Tips for going next year

Bring hand sanitizer, specifically for the bathrooms. They provided a handwashing station, but I would have liked the added comfort of having my own hand sanitizer as well. There is a lost and found. Bring cash, but most places take cards as well. Even if cards are not displayed, ask if they take cards, and they might say yes. Be prepared to walk a lot, from the parking areas to the variety of vendors.
