The Festival Magique du Goëlo is a magic festival that is open to the public. This magic festival features two original shows as well as an exhibit. There will also be conferences, demos, and more for attendees to enjoy. International Mother Language Day Celebrations

This event is all about bringing together as many languages as possible to celebrate the International Mother Language Day. Attendees are encouraged to make a display table or do something else that brings their language to life for other participants. Participation is free and the organizers can help cover pre-agreed expenses to bring your language to life.

Paeroa Highland Games & Tattoo

This year marks the 33rd Paeroa Highland Games and Tattoo. The event features highland games, an evening tattoo, and more. There is also a highland dance competition and pipe bands.  Paeroa is the only town in New Zealand that regularly holds a Highland Games event with a tattoo.

Granite Noir X

Granite Noir is Aberdeen’s crime writing festival. It is produced and curated by Aberdeen Performing Arts and funded by Aberdeen City Council, Creative Scotland and Event Scotland. This year marks the 10th year of the event. Festival events will take place in venues across Aberdeen

 

Glasgow Film Festival

This film festival takes place in Glasgow and features 16 world, European, and international film premieres, 68 UK film premieres, and 18 Scottish film premieres. Tickets for the films can be purchased on the festival website. It is recommended that participants use the calendar to book tickets for several films during the festival.

Celebration of Robert Burns

Although Robert Burns’ birthday was on January 25, the celebration of Scotland’s national poet continues with a traditional Scottish dinner. Music and entertainment will be provided by Charlie Zahm, who will be accompanied by Tad Marks on fiddle and Scottish bagpipes.

The Tallahassee Highland Games features kids' activities, athletics, dancing, and more. Tickets for the event can be purchased online. For those purchasing tickets for both days, tickets are a bit cheaper for the adult 2-day admission. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate if they are still available. 

 

Curator Talk – Choctaw-Irish Relationship
