On August 8, 2025, Welsh indie band The Royston Club released their latest album, “Songs for the Spine,” via Modern Sky. This is the band’s second studio album, and it consists of 10 songs. It is available in cassette, CD, digital download, LP, and streaming formats.

The Royston Club is a band from Wrexham, North Wales, and consists of Tom Faithfull on vocals and guitar, Ben Matthias on lead guitar, Dave Tute on bass, and Sam Jones on drums.

Throughout the album, each song has its own style and message, but the voice of the band remains constant. There are snippets in the songs that sound like songs by other artists, but The Royston Club still makes it their own.

There is a rule in poetry that you should not end a poem on an allusion. If that rule applies to making an album, The Royston Club broke this rule by alluding to the music of Glenn Campbell. The song is a beautiful tribute to Glenn Campbell and the stories behind his music.

Although the album is just 10 songs long, the end feels complete. The song begins with a loud rock song and ends with a ballad that is on the slower side. This arc gives the album the feeling of completion. Listeners may want to listen to more of the band’s music, but they are content to listen to other albums instead of longing for something else from this one.

There is something for everyone on this album. Whether you like more indie rock, alternative, or ballads, you will find something to connect with. There are also a variety of subjects and messages presented, so listeners will be able to relate to at least one song on the album.

Overall, this album is perfect for those who love the sound of indie bands. A few of the songs are labeled as “Explicit.” The mixing on the album is well done. The singer has such passion behind each of the songs. It is clear that the band connects with the songs on a deep level, which is refreshing to listen to.
