Irish garage punk band Sprints released their second studio album, “All That Is Over,” on September 26, 2025. It was released in LP, CD, and digital formats and has received good ratings from publications that reviewed the album. The album consists of
The album features Karla Chubb on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Zac Stephenson on lead guitar and backing vocals, Sam McCann on bass and backing vocals, and Jack Callan on drums. The album was produced, engineered, and mixed by Daniel Fox. Thibault Moucron assisted with the engineering. Sarah Register mastered the album.
The album starts off a bit slow but gains momentum as the songs progress. The opening song, “Abandon,” is a slow song. Some listeners may struggle to hold their attention and listen to the rest of the album, but the album does pick up. The song would have been good to have further down the album instead of as the opening track, though it does ease listeners into the rest of the album.
At points throughout the album, the vocals are a bit low and difficult to understand. However, overall, the lyrics are clear and understandable, especially as the album progresses. The album is mixed fairly well for the most part, with the exception of a few moments in the first few songs.
"Descartes" was released in June of 2025 as the album’s lead single. According to Chubb, the song is about the need to write and create in order to survive. Chubb says that these things are important to her in order to understand the world.
The songs on the album all have the signature “Sprints” sound, but they do not all sound exactly the same. This keeps the album interesting, especially after a slow first song. There are varying tempos and melodies while keeping the band’s voice constant throughout.
Listeners will be able to relate to the songs on this album. They deal with subjects that everyone deals with. It is obvious that the musicians connect with each song through their passion while performing the songs on the album. Each song is like a journal entry that reveals something else about the performers.
The album ends on “Desire,” which is another slow song. It is neat that it ends on the same vibe that it started. It had a buildup from the first song, and the final song being slower is a cool down. This is great album pacing, though it would be interesting to see how the album would sound with the first and last songs swapped.
Overall, this album is very well done. While it has a bit of a slow start in terms of pacing and understanding of the lyrics, these things improved as the album went on. Listeners will find something to connect to on this album, and there is something for everyone.
