Album Review: "Little Dreaming" by Cian Ducrot FINAL

Irish musician Cian Ducrot released his latest album, “Little Dreaming,” on August 1, 2025. The album consists of 16 songs, including singles “Who’s Making You Feel It” and “Little Dreaming.” This album is Ducrot’s second album.

Each song has a different topic and feel, but Ducrot’s voice and style make each song uniquely his. While some of the songs are upbeat and fun, others on the album are more emotional. The songs are all so vastly different, which showcases Ducrot’s talent and is a great demonstration of his musical abilities.

The album’s title track, “Little Dreaming,” is a lot of fun to listen to. Everyone likes to dream sometimes, even if the dreams may not come to fruition. It is okay to dream a little and have fun imagining different situations that you want to happen. This song speaks to that in a fun and upbeat way.

Those who love traditional Irish music will love “Kiss and Tell.” It has a very traditional Irish feel and features a whistle, which is a key instrument in this style of music. This hails back to Ducrot’s Irish upbringing and is a nod to the music of Ireland. This song was really well done, adding a contemporary take on a traditional music style.

“No Way to Live” contains some traditional folk sounds with a contemporary message. This song is a message about living your own life and not hating on what others are doing, whether it means dying their hair purple, painting their nails, or loving who they love. The lyrics specifically call out Christians who are focused on the wrong messages, condemning others when Jesus commands his followers to love. In today’s world, this song is a powerful message and a much-needed reminder.

Overall, the album is one of the most eclectic collections of songs out there. This showcases Ducrot’s skill and willingness to do different things. The only song on the album that is labeled as explicit is “No Way To Live.” Ducrot’s passion for his music and his vulnerability shine through every song. This album is perfect for those who are fans of Keith Harkin (formerly of Celtic Thunder) and Ed Sheeran, as the songs on this album have a similar style and vibe of these musicians.
