Signs You're An Outlander Fan

Since the first book was released in 1991, "Outlander" has taken the world by storm as a book series and as a television series. Fans have come together to talk about the show and books and the people behind the stories. Outlander fans are like no other- they are welcoming, generous, and passionate people who love their favorite show and books as well as other fans. If you are an Outlander fan, at least one of these likely applies to you.

You ADORE Sam and Caitriona's chemistry

Same and Caitriona are the perfect actors for the characters, and they are so perfect together. They have such a beautiful chemistry on and off screen that is so infectious. You can see it when they look at each other and how much they care about each other and support each other as coworkers and friends. They are absolute goals!

You have gone to your local alcohol store to see if they have the cast's whiskeys/gins/etc.

Sam has his Sassenach line. Graham has McTavish. Caitriona has Forget Me Not. You have been to your local stores and have looked at drink menus at restaurants to specifically go to one that serves these. This quest has kind of taken over your life and you are perfectly okay with this. If you have tried to find it to no avail, you have been upset, especially at the cost of shipping it to you.

You have gone to events specifically to see Outlander panels

From Comic Cons to Paley Fest and other events, the cast is busy promoting the show. You have specifically gone to one (or more) of these events to see the cast. Bonus points if you dressed up in Outlander cosplay for these events!

You have an Outlander-related collection

Whether this means Pop Funko figures or something else, you collect something related to Outlander. You have asked for your next "thing" for birthdays, gift-giving holidays, etc. Better yet, you may not even have to ask. People know that you are into your collection so they know to get you something to contribute to it.

You joined My Peak Challenge

My Peak Challenge is Sam Heughan's group that is mainly geared towards helping people around the world achieve their fitness goals. However, there are small groups called Ambassador Groups that often have other goals and interests to unite those who are interested in the same things. Many view MPC as a way to accomplish goals and meet other Outlander fans. It is a supportive community that aims to give back to the world.

People are annoyed by how much you talk about it

At one point, Outlander became your entire personality and you either talk about the series or something related to it. People around you are tired of hearing about Outlander, but honestly? You do not care. They talk about things they are interested in that you may not want to talk about.

You have been to Scotland just to see the sites in the show

Going to Scotland to see the sites where Outlander was filmed or where things are mentioned is a huge goal of yours if you have not already done so already. Before your trip, you did your research and perfectly mapped out how to see all of the sites you wanted to see. You have perfectly curated a perfect trip. Bonus points if you are doing the same for Men In Kilts, "Clanlands," and "Clanlands Almanac."

You got excited when you realized you perfectly curated your social media feed to be all Outlander-related posts

Social media has a way of picking up on posts you like. At some point, your "For You" page became solely filled with Outlander content. You can still remember the moment you realized this was the case and you SQUEALED with joy. No one quite understood your excitement, but those who care most about you were happy that you were happy in that moment.

You buy anything that is Outlander-related and friends and family members buy you things they see that have anything to do with Outlander

Whether it is a magazine or something else, every time you see something Outlander-related in stores, you HAVE to buy it, no matter what. Your friends and family members have also gotten in the habit of picking up Outlander or Scotland things that they see. Again, this feeds into your collection of Outlander things.

You communicate solely in Outlander memes, quotes, and GIFs

Whenever possible, you try to sneak Outlander quotes, memes, and GIFS during conversations. In fact, you may even try to force the conversation in a way that allows you do insert these things in. Yes, these references may go over other people's heads, but you take amusement in these things.
